Band Assisted Pull Up

  • force pull
  • level beginner
  • category upper body
  • movement compound

  • Place a box near the pull up bar within legs' reach so you can safely step out of the loop when done with the exercise (do not attempt to jump to the ground with your foot still in the band). Step up on to the box. Hang a Resistance Pull Up Band around the center of the bar, and pull the side closest to you through the loop on the other side of the bar, pulling the loop tight.
  • Place your closest foot to the band in the loop, then assume your normal starting pull-up grip and step down onto the band. Pull up until your chin is over the bar.
  • Let your body back down until arms and shoulders are fully extended. Repeat.
